This policy explains what information gameonsign.com ("Game On Sign", "the site") collects and how it is used. Game On Sign is run by Daniel as an independent fan project. Questions: [email protected].
The short version
- There are no accounts and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email or payment details.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads. Both use cookies.
- Your team picks and favorites are saved in your own browser, not on our server.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Google Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-W0G69ZCGBG) to understand how many people visit, which pages they use and roughly where they come from (country or region, device and browser type). Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, time on page, referring site and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We use these reports only in aggregate to improve the site. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
Ads on the site are served by Google AdSense. The About page does not show ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, lets Google and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Information stored in your browser
The setup page and displays save your favorite teams and some settings in your browser's local storage on your device. Your display choices (teams, theme, time zone, clock format) are kept in the page link you open or bookmark. This information stays on your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web host and our network provider (Cloudflare) keep standard request logs, such as IP address, date and time, requested address and browser type. These are used for security, troubleshooting and to keep the service running, and are kept under those providers' policies.
Devices that use the API
DIY scoreboards and signs, such as ESP32 boards, request scores and schedules from the public /api endpoints. These requests only say which league and team to look up. They do not include personal information, and the API does not use cookies, analytics or ads. Normal server logs (above) still apply.
Links to other sites
Links to other sites, such as Venmo for optional donations, league or ticket sites, and Google's pages, are covered by those sites' own privacy policies.
Children
The site is a general-audience sports site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights (including California and the EU/UK)
Depending on where you live, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the GDPR give you rights to know what personal information is collected, to ask for access or deletion, to object to or limit certain processing, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. Because the site has no accounts, we generally hold no information that identifies you. Data collected by Google is handled under Google's policies, and you can use the opt-out links above. For any privacy request, email [email protected]. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
